POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are currently seeking a talented and caring Licensed Practical Nurse. The LPN team administers medication and ensures resident records are kept up to date in the computer system. They respond to emergencies and work closely with the head of health services and other departments (kitchen, dining room, maintenance, reception, etc.). Position 1: Part-time, 16 hours per week, daytime. Position 2: Full-time, 10 hours per week, evening. Position 3: On-call, day, evening, or night shifts.


ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administer medication in accordance with safety principles and the codes of ethics
  • Collaborate with residents for medical visits
  • Contribute to the adjustment of a residents' action plan based on their observations
  • Create and maintain metuculous notes in the residents Dossier in accordance with the requirements of the Ordre des Infirmiers et Infirmières auxiliaires du Québec (OIIAQ)
  • Participate in health assessments of new residents or whenever it is required
  • Promote and advocate for proactive care among residents
  • Provide a range of nursing care and treatments in order to maintain and restore residents health and to help prevent illness
  • Respond to all emergency situations
  • Upon request by the residents doctor or pharmacist, update the residents medical dossiers and prescriptions
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in health care assistance, nursing
  • PDSB training
  • Up to date CPR / AED training certificates
  • Member of the OIIAQ
