Help
  • Lead continuity planning for the Defense Health Agency and ensure mission-essential functions can continue during emergencies.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities across the agency, including developing plans and conducting assessments.
  • Plan and evaluate emergency and continuity exercises and use results to improve organizational readiness.
  • Provide expert guidance to leadership on emergency planning, continuity requirements, and all-hazards preparedness.
  • Develop policies and procedures that support emergency management, continuity operations, and crisis response.
  • Support crisis response operations and assist DHA sites in meeting emergency and continuity program requirements.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret/SCI security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A comprehensive background investigation is required.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work on any day or shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an "on call" basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.
  • This position may require the incumbent to complete a one year supervisory probationary period.

Specialized experience is defined as: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service which includes developing continuity plans; conducting emergency preparedness exercises; and analyzing emergency program information to provide recommendations to leadership. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS 13).
