Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.\r\n**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations**\r\n

Nature of Work

The\r\nfundamental reason this job exists is to directly develop, coordinate,\r\nimplement, perform and manage all training, quality control, public education,\r\nand recruiting programs for the Department of Emergency Communications in\r\nrelation to 9-1-1 Emergency Services.\r\nThe work responsibilities include overseeing and managing\r\ndepartment-wide training programs; overseeing and managing the recruiting\r\nprogram; developing, managing, and implementing a public education program;\r\nsupervising training division staff, overseeing and managing a quality\r\nassurance and improvement program; and performing administrative duties. This position assists the Director and\r\nAssistant Director in special projects, ensuring that personnel maintains\r\nappropriate certifications and standards as required by Federal, State, and\r\nlocal rules and ordinances, and provides a means for career enhancement and\r\ngrowth for personnel. This employee reports to and receives general\r\ninstructions and orders from the Director of Emergency Communications.\r\n

Minimum Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least two\r\n(2) years of progressively responsible experience in Public Safety emergency\r\ndispatching and at least two (2) years of experience in developing and\r\nconducting training programs. Qualifying work experience must include at least\r\none (1) year of supervisory experience.\r\n\r\n\r\nNOTE: Qualifying education, training, and\r\nexperience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to\r\nperform the job will be considered.\r\n

Special Requirements

Must be willing to work\r\nnights, weekends, and holidays and willing to be on-call to respond to\r\nemergency incidents as needed. Must possess or be able to attain a valid\r\nAlabama Driver's license within 60 days and have an acceptable driving\r\nrecord. Must be able to obtain and maintain all required instructor\r\ncertifications.\r\n
