Job description

When military bases, national security agencies, federal buildings, healthcare facilities, and leading commercial clients in Washington D.C and across the nation need superior facility support services, we answer the call. EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Laborer in College Park, MD. The Laborer will assist and perform minor tasks under the close supervision of a maintenance tradesperson or mechanic. This is an IUOE, Local 99-represented position.

The Work Schedule is Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:00pm.

โ€ข Performs and/or assists other technicians/specialists with repairs and upkeep to facilities, amenities and grounds.
โ€ข Inspects, cleans, and organizes common area facilities and amenities.
โ€ข Efficiently inspects, and organizes common areas, facilities, mechanical spaces.
โ€ข Identifies, corrects, and/or reports hazards or concerns found on common area parcels or facilities.
โ€ข Maintains, operates, organizes, and cleans maintenance facility, vehicles, utility vehicles, small engine equipment and hand tools.
โ€ข Assist other maintenance staff as required.


โ€ข Must complete the OSHA 10 General Safety and Health training class (supplied by EMCOR).
โ€ข Ability to work extended hours or weekend overtime, if needed.


The work requires the ability to lift and carry minimum of 50 lbs. to heavy items; to walk, climb stairs and able to work on ladders over 12 feet in length, bend and crouch, and to reach and pull to work on equipment; and to use hands, arms and legs in using the tools and materials of the trade. Employee is responsible for complying with life safety and OSHA requirements
