Who We're Hiring:
EMC Mechanical Services is searching for a Commercial Sheet Metal Helper to join our team! This position is intended to educate and train individuals who are interested in becoming Sheet Metal Mechanics. Apprentices and Helpers are required to assist the Mechanic that they are working with in any way necessary. This will allow them to gain hands on training and knowledge from the senior Mechanic.

What You'll Do:
  • Assist on installation of sheet metal and duct work.
  • Cut slides and drives.
  • Operate a duct lift.
  • Clean up the jobsite and work area daily.
  • Learn from the mechanic that they're assigned each day.
  • Maintain a passing grade in the apprenticeship program.

What You'll Bring:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Enrolled in sheet metal school or a company approved apprenticeship program.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Reliable transportation to and from jobsites.
  • Fluent English verbal and written skills are required.
  • Driving Requirements
    • Must have a valid Virginia driver's license.
    • Must have positive points on state driving record.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
    • Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.
    • All driving records are run as part of our pre-employment process and reviewed at the discretion of the Safety Team.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted.
    • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
