Job Description

Title : Project Manager

Location : Madison, WI

Duration : 8-12months


SV Tech Systems is looking for a Project Manager for their Client in Madison, WI.

This position will start end of January/early February and the duration of this role is expected to be 8-12 months, with possible extension beyond that timeframe.


Background:

The client has developed a set of IT strategies as well as Academic plans and Student Services Pillars and Initiatives. Due to how program areas are spread out and the varying degree of needs across program areas, the client needs assistance in defining common solution options to be leveraged across the board. Examples of core processes are: Marketing, Student Registration, Student Enrollment, Student Financial Aid Processing, Student Orientation/Advising, etc. Examples of programs are: full-time, degree students; part-time, non-degree students; continuing education/enrichment students; business and industry services/students; international students, etc.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications/Core Skills: 

The person in this role requires good facilitation and planning skills to corral the various needs and define a short-term and long-term solutions architecture and roadmap for the Student Services area i.e., a Technology Plan.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Work with several functional areas: IT, Student Services areas and programs.

Perform project management activities.

Perform business analysis activities.

Identify key requirements and needs for automation.

Identify capabilities of existing environment and automation options.

Identify key pain points and priorities.

Develop a roadmap that ties together business expectations to capabilities across time and in line with priorities.

Present and get buy-in/acceptance on plans.

Manage assigned implementation projects off plan/roadmap.

Education and Qualifications 

7+ years as a Business Solutions Architect or similar role (not just a "Techie"!).

Mature Project Management skills

Mature Business Analysis skills

Preference: Bachelor's degree or higher or substantial, equivalent work experience in relevant subject areas.
