Reports To: Pharma Operations Manager

SUMMARY

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers and performs any combination of the following tasks to receive, efficiently store and distribute products for multiple clients. Must develop SOP’s when required, manage, and maintain a regulatory compliant environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Additional responsibilities may be assigned.
  • Manage the appropriate staffing for efficient operations and adjust workload and labor resources to match workflow throughout the day.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of all business processes and be able to train others in all aspects of processes, policies and procedures. Monitor work execution to assure that only authorized and trained processes are being used and that equipment is being used properly.
  • Schedule transportation appointments with various carriers, trucking companies and Freight Forwarders for pick up/ delivery times as well as receipt of client’s returns and inbound warehoused freight.
  • Review and assign shipping orders, picking documents or stock allocations to determine items to be processed and distributed.
  • Advises of discrepancies, records the number of items received, and provides weights and measures for new items received into inventory.
  • Audit the accuracy of each order shipped regarding proper product packaging, correct labeling and accurately staged for loading.
  • Perform activities to monitor and maintain inventory control of materials, which include monthly and as needed physical inventory counts.
  • Ensure appropriate precautions are taken to protect warehouse contents against loss
  • Ensure that departmental goals and objectives are consistently met within budgeted costs.
  • Create an environment consistent with a Safety culture
  • Create an environment consistent with a continuous improvement culture.
  • Responsible for issuing disciplinary action to staff


MISCELLANEOUS DUTIES

Special Project Assist in company wide activities associated with the department. Cross training as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Required ability to manage and delegate to employees. Is responsible for overall direction and coordination of this function. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include staff requirement planning, assigning, and directing work, and reporting problems to the Operations Manager. Certifies personnel in equipment training.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required. College degree preferred. 5+ years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent interpersonal skills and good organizational and time management skills. Forklift certification or the ability to be certified is required. Strong Red Prairie experience is preferred or WMS equivalent.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or correspond via email. Fluent Spanish speaking is helpful.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to physically count, add, subtract, multiply and divide.

REASONING ABILILTY

Ability to define problems establishes facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
