ELPAC Tester (Certificated) K-12 Reading/Writing:

Title: ELPAC Tester- Certificated Reports To: Assistant Director of Categorical & ELL Programs

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

The ELPAC Tester, under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Categorical and ELL Programs, will be involved in the initial and post testing of K-12 students identified as second language learners in K-12 (Reading/Writing).


REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

  • The tester will complete date information for each student tested, administer the appropriate test and complete the numerical scoring for parts of the test. E
  • The tester will travel to various school sites daily to complete testing according to the timelines provided by state and federal guidelines. E
  • Prepare materials for testing. E
  • Reviews Home Language survey for accuracy of information from student registration forms. E
  • Administer test to students’ one on one in Reading and Writing. E
  • Completes initial scoring and reviews procedures with Coordinator. E
  • Administer the ELPAC test to K-12 students in Reading and Writing. E
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. E


EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS:

  • Substitute Permit Required
  • Professional or volunteer work with children’s groups, tutoring, and/or mentoring
  • Valid California Driver’s License


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Capable of self-direction in completing assigned tasks.
  • Work cooperatively with site staff members.
  • Must be proficient in English.
