Our ideal candidate will:

  • Identify and Instruct English Learners and Standard English learners with English Language Development support in the areas of reading, writing, speaking, and listening, using various teaching methods, audiovisual aids, and other materials.

  • Manage a caseload of targeted students (approximately 50-75) and provide weekly interventions and instructions, as well as assess and report back to the regional leadership team the academic progress of each student on the caseload, track EL enrollment and student progress monthly and create action plans based on needs at their center and develop an individualized academic plan for each EL student in their center.

  • Prepare an outline for the course of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of state and school, and administer ELPAC tests to evaluate pupil progress and record results.

  • Provides pull-out and additional support to Long Term English Learners (LTELs) in AR and SGI classes for English language development.

  • Facilitate professional learning communities to support the work of AR teachers by providing them with theoretically grounded pedagogy and interventions for English Language Learners.

  • Do initial ELPAC assessment within 30 days of enrollment to make Individualized Learning Plans for English Learners that move them effectively and efficiently to proficiency in English, maintain current ELPAC testing results, and monitor progress thereof.

You'll need the following minimum requirements:

  • Experience working with second language learners and in second language acquisition

  • Valid California clear or preliminary single subject teaching credential required

  • English Learner Authorization (ELA1 or similar) required

Salary Range:

$73,000 - $105,000 - Depending on Experience
