As a Staff Accountant at Elmington Affordable, you will support the financial reporting and accounting functions of Elmington's corporate lines of business. This position plays a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close processes, and working collaboratively across departments to ensure the financial integrity of our assets.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Preparation of monthly draw packages for funding requests for projects under development
  • Preparation of monthly financials for projects under development
  • Documents financial transactions by entering account information
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents
  • Develop an intimate knowledge of assigned portfolio
  • Reconciles monthly bank statements and has responsibility for cash management
  • Maintains investor confidence and protects operations by maintaining confidentiality
  • Assists with year-end reporting including, but not limited to annual filings, audits, and tax returns
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls and promoting ethical environment
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (or degree in business with relatable experience)
  • CPA certification not required
  • 0-2 years of experience in a related field preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
