Job description

Job Summary:

The Floor Technician ensures facility safety, sanitation, and appearance by maintaining Salemtowne's floors according to set schedules; contributes to resident satisfaction and inter-departmental teamwork by setting up, breaking down, and moving furniture/furnishings as needed.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Maintains high levels of facility cleanliness and appearance by performing various aspects of complete floor care including, but not limited to vacuuming, extracting, spot cleaning, stripping, refinishing, etc.
  2. Meets or exceeds the sanitation standards of federal, state, and licensing organizations by removing routine trash and biohazard wastes in a timely and safe manner.
  3. Supports the work of other departments by setting up and breaking down rooms for meetings, conferences, and other special events according to set-up requests and specifications submitted by department.
  4. Reduces the stress associated with resident moves by assisting residents and/or family members with the careful relocation of furniture and belongings.
  5. Supports organizational and staff changes by facilitating office moves according to requests of Department Head.
  6. Supports & promotes the Salemtowne Shines Culture & philosophy.
  7. Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Compliance in the performance of their duties.
  8. Adheres to Salemtowne's policies and procedures regarding the compliance program of the organization and is timely in reporting any possible concerns.
  9. Follows all local, state, and federal regulations as they pertain to their position.
  10. Adheres to the Salemtowne's policies and procedures covering privacy and security in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Education and Experience:

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Minimum of six (6) months of general facility housekeeping with specific training on floor care equipment and procedures.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of standing and walking short distances for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull objects more than 50 pounds.
  • Stoop and bend at the knees, twisting from side to side at the waist.
  • Reach above, below, and at shoulder level.
  • Sensory demands include vision correctable to 20/20, touch using fine finger movement/dexterity, smell, and hear correctable to normal range.

Work Environment:

Works throughout the community. Possible work hazards include airborne particles, bloodborne pathogens, moving parts, offensive odors, and toxic chemicals/fumes.
