ABOUT US:
GEO Next Generation Academy - Indianapolis is a part of a network of high-quality charter schools managed by the GEO Foundation. It joins 21st Century Academy, Gary Middle College East and Gary Middle College West in delivering a high-quality learning experience to parents and students in Indiana. GEO Next Generation Academy is a tuition-free, public charter school that will begin with K-12 grades. Our teachers cultivate critical thinking skills students need to understand how the world works around them. Our dedicated faculty are committed to providing an outstanding education for students each day as they transition from Elementary School to middle school to high school and COLLEGE. Through our partnership with the local community college, our students will be able to take dual credit courses with the opportunity to earn college credit at no cost to the student. Our curriculum and our teaching methods are designed using Core Knowledge, Teach Like a Champion and blended learning model.
REPORTS TO/TERM:
Principal and Administrative Team
Part-time 10-month position
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
An ELL teaching coach is required to perform the following duties:
  • Motivate and support students in reaching high levels of academic success.
  • Assist and support regular classroom teacher.
  • Teach small groups of students with several learning styles.
  • Support a positive student culture around online learning.
  • Ability to plan and customize lessons and curriculum.
  • Maintain high behavioral expectations for all students.
  • Interpret, manage, and utilize multiple sets of data to best support student progress.
  • Perform targeted individual assistance and small group tutoring.
  • Assist with the creation of individual learning plans for each student enrolled at NextGen Academy.
  • Maintain frequent communication with students and their support network regarding academic progress.
  • Communicate and collaborate with teachers and school administrators.
  • Participate in staff development opportunities.
  • Dress professionally and uphold all school policies.
  • Perform other duties, as deemed appropriate, by the principal.

Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Commitment to the mission and organizational goals of GEO Next Generation Academy
  • Bachelor's degree
  • ELL teaching experience and testing regulations.
  • Experience or familiarity in one of the following areas: Blended Learning, Online learning/coursework, Successful teaching experience in an urban environment
