Job Description

ELINT Signals Analyst (ESA) – Level 1

Overview:

We are seeking a Level 1 ELINT Signals Analyst (ESA) to perform technical analysis of Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) derived from developmental and operational systems. This role focuses on radar emissions, jammer and electronic attack signals, and related electronic emanations. The ESA will also provide technical guidance, mentoring, and analytical insight to government analysts and contractor personnel supporting the Global Technical SIGINT Weapons and Space community.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct technical ELINT signals analysis on radar, jammer, and other electronic attack emissions.

• Make precise measurements of key ELINT parameters such as radio frequency, modulation characteristics, pulse duration, pulse repetition intervals, scan type, and scan time.

• Develop accurate signal chronologies and identify relationships between associated emitters.

• Provide analytical feedback to improve ELINT tasking and contribute tuning recommendations for national processors to enhance automated reporting.

• Screen, filter, and decimate large data files in support of mission requirements.

• Analyze multiple datasets and produce cohesive findings using proper ELINT terminology and reporting standards (e.g., USSIDs AP2410 and CR1400).

• Create or update entries in national databases such as the Combined Emitter Database in accordance with established standards.

• Apply additional ELINT analytical methods such as range/velocity corridor interpretation, MTI analysis, bistatic reflection assessment, P-cubed measurements (power, pattern, polarization), and new signal identification.

• Prepare and deliver analysis products in required SIGINT formats.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Science, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

• Minimum of 5 years of technical ELINT analysis experience.

• ELINT collection, processing, or screening experience may count toward no more than 2 of the required years.

• In lieu of a bachelor’s degree:

• 9 years of technical ELINT experience (with no more than 2 years derived from collection, processing, or screening).

• A master’s or doctoral degree in a qualifying technical field may substitute for up to 2 years of ELINT analysis experience.

• Regardless of degree, at least 3 years of direct technical ELINT analysis experience is required.

• Collection, processing, or screening experience cannot replace this minimum.

• Teaching or development of technical ELINT courses may count for no more than 1 year of the required technical ELINT analysis experience.

Salary: $100,000-$135,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position, but is not guaranteed. Salary is based on experience, location and contractual requirements which could fall outside of the range listed.
