Educator II

Department: Public Relations
Reports To: Public Relations Manager
Classification: Non-Exempt
Supervises Direct: 0
Supervises Indirect: 0
Role: To represent ELGA Credit Union in the community and schools as a financial educator.
Essential Functions amp; Responsibilities:
50% - Assists in organizing and leading student deposit days and conducting financial education classes for youth, teen, and adult in school and community settings. Aids in scheduling to ensure adequate staffing for each deposit and education day, while also facilitating communication and coordination with school administration at participating institutions. Travels to various locations on scheduled community education days, student credit union days, and other educational events to deliver training in both classroom and assembly settings on a range of financial topics.

20% - Ability to create and refresh curriculum as needed.

10% - Responsible for carrying out a range of tasks aimed at involving members and potential members in school credit union programs and community educational programs.

10% - Create marketing materials as required to promote educational programs.

10% - Responsible for tracking, reporting and monitoring of programs for impact.
Performance Measurements:
1. To meet established expectations of ELGA's Core Factors including but not limited to Accountability, Attitude, Communication, Competence, Continuous Improvement amp; Innovation and Relationship Building.
2. To take full responsibility for your own success with no excuses.
3. Promote and instill healthy savings habits through dedicated accounts and financial products designed for individuals of all age groups, including children, teenagers, and adults. Ensure uniform availability of program supplies across all branches and credit union programs
4. Maintain a high level of expertise in credit union products, compliance, sales skills, and self-improvement. Proactively engages in completing online learning courses, actively participates in both individual and group training programs, stay abreast of relevant literature including articles and books focused on financial education and self-improvement, and pursues additional courses as necessary.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.

Education: (1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.

Interpersonal Skills: The role necessitates a high degree of trust, diplomacy, and courtesy, along with tact. It entails extensive personal interaction of a personal or sensitive nature, with a potential added focus on motivation or influence. Cultivating strong, professional relationships with external entities, including companies and individuals, is crucial.

Other Skills: Patience with students, use of PowerPoint along with various software programs, and presentations skills. Ability to relate and bring appropriate energy to ages pre-K to senior citizens. Ability to be creative on how to connect to different generations and diverse backgrounds. Must have a drive to make an impact/change on underserved.

Physical Requirements: Must travel to schools and community events throughout Genesee, Saginaw and Lapeer counties.

Work Environment: Some night and weekends events required.
