Job description

Overview

Element has an opportunity for a LIMS Support Specialist to join our growing Lab Systems Support team. This role is critical in ensuring the stability, performance, and user experience of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) across the Americas (U.S., Canada, and Mexico).

Reporting to the Head of Lab Systems Support, you will provide first- and second-line technical support across a diverse portfolio of LIMS platforms, including SaaS, custom-built, and hybrid solutions. You'll partner closely with global teams, laboratory stakeholders, and IT to resolve issues, enhance system functionality, and drive continuous improvement.

Hybrid Position:  3 days a week onsite in Huntington Beach, CA and 2 days remote

Salary range: $80,000 to $100,000 annually (Depending on Experience)

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for LIMS-related support across the Americas region
  • Triage, prioritize, and resolve incidents and service requests in alignment with SLA targets
  • Troubleshoot software, hardware, and network issues impacting LIMS performance
  • Support end users with system navigation, functionality, and issue resolution
  • Perform system configurations, updates, and enhancements to meet business needs
  • Collaborate with global support teams to ensure consistent service delivery and knowledge sharing
  • Develop and maintain documentation including user guides, SOPs, and knowledge base articles
  • Support testing, validation, and deployment of system upgrades, patches, and new features
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend long-term solutions to improve system stability and usability
  • Partner with laboratory and IT stakeholders to support integrations, customizations, and process improvements
Skills / Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience supporting enterprise systems (SaaS, custom, or hybrid), ideally within a laboratory or scientific environment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across software, hardware, and network environments
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Programming languages such as .NET, Python, VBA, or Java
    • SQL databases (querying, troubleshooting, basic optimization)
    • Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power BI)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to support technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global, cross-functional environment
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and support critical issues outside standard hours when needed

Preferred:

  • Experience with LIMS platforms or laboratory systems
  • Understanding of laboratory operations, data integrity, and regulatory standards (ISO, FDA, ITAR, Nadcap)
