Electronics Engineering Technician, Mid-Level

Overview

Responsibilities

Perform highly skilled surfacemount and platedthroughhole hand soldering and rework.

Interpret and work from schematics, diagrams, written or verbal instructions, and defined plans.

Fabricate cables and breakout boxes in accordance with technical drawings.

Utilize hand and power tools for the fabrication of breakout boxes.

Produce highquality prototypes based on engineering drawings in a fastpaced environment.

Provide electronic testing and debug as required using multimeters, X-ray machine and other test equipment.

Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment.

Execute additional duties as assigned.

Develop and compose procedures for various operational tasks.

Minimum Qualifications & Education Requirements and Desired Skillsets

Experience with fine pitch surface mount soldering and cable assemblies, required.

Technical training in a related field from an accredited institution is preferred, though not required.

IPCA610, JSTD001, and IPCA620 certifications are preferred.

3-10 years of experience in an electronicsrelated field is preferred.

Experience with wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and soldering is required.

Participation in a skillsbased assessment is required as part of the interview process.

Must be a selfstarter capable of working independently or as part of a cohesive team; candidate should be dynamic, highly motivated, and able to demonstrate strong technical and communication skills.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Occasional travel may be required.

Some overtime may be required.

U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret Security clearance and ability to maintain the designated security clearance level is required.

Physical Description

Employees in these positions will function in a general office/cubicle setting environment, and laboratory/testing setting using standard office equipment and various electronic testing equipment, including a computer, telephone, printers, video equipment, computer software and testing equipment. Will interact in a general office setting environment with various personnel; participate in meetings and contribute to team success; deliver timely results and produce reports; receive and communicate information; may include telework. May function in a specialized laboratory/testing environment using electronic testing equipment, computer software and complex systems. May move and test equipment of various weights. Laboratory environment may require use of protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to safety glasses and protective hearing and footwear. May be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization due to business demands; travel occasionally for assigned work.
