Job description

Job Overview

Join a growing electronics manufacturing team as an Electronics Engineering Technician in Lockport, IL. In this hands-on role, you'll troubleshoot, test, calibrate, and repair sophisticated electronic test and measurement equipment. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy solving technical problems, working independently, and troubleshooting electronic systems down to the component level.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot PCB assemblies to the component level using schematics and diagnostic equipment
  • Perform final assembly, testing, and calibration of electronic test and measurement products
  • Diagnose failed components and complete repairs rather than replacing entire assemblies
  • Repair, test, and recalibrate units returned from the field
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics for troubleshooting and circuit analysis
  • Utilize oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electronic diagnostic tools
  • Maintain repair logs, calibration records, production documentation, and inventory records
  • Identify root causes of failures and implement effective corrective actions
  • Work independently to resolve technical issues with minimal supervision
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams as needed
  • Follow all safety, quality, and documentation requirements
Required Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of electronics or electrical troubleshooting experience
  • Strong understanding of electronic theory and circuit analysis
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic assemblies to the component level
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and similar diagnostic equipment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with SMT soldering and de-soldering
  • Experience with calibration processes and electronic test equipment
  • Manufacturing or production support experience
  • Experience repairing returned electronic products
  • Familiarity with ISO-controlled manufacturing environments
