Compensation
At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $79,780 - $105,713.80 Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Are you passionate about Electronics Engineering? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our US Electronics Hardware department.
The Electronics Engineer II plays a critical role in supporting the electronic systems and components of S&C Products. This position focuses on sustaining engineering -- ensuring the ongoing reliability, performance, and compliance of existing products-and development, contributing to the design and integration of new electronic solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Support: Troubleshoot and resolve design, manufacturing, and component issues in products already in volume production. Recommend and implement design updates to improve reliability, performance, or manufacturability. Conduct RMA testing and analysis.
  • Component Support: Identify and evaluate alternate components for obsolete parts. Contribute to proactive component selection strategies that reduce risk and improve supply chain resilience. Support qualification and documentation of new components in collaboration with other engineers.
  • Testing & Analysis: Design and execute test plans for electronic systems and subsystems. Analyze test data, support root cause analysis, and maintain continuous documentation, recommending corrective actions to the electronics engineering team.
  • Design & Development: Create and modify schematics and PCB designs for analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits. Design circuits from start to finish, emphasizing performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Support prototype development through internal processes and coordinate with contract manufacturers.
  • Documentation & Process: Maintain accurate and complete engineering documentation, including schematics, BOMs, test reports, and change records. Support the creation of formal documentation for internal and external use. Create ECR/ECO to update the BOMs and other documentation.
  • Research & Technology: Participate in research activities by gathering technical data, performing simple experiments, and documenting results under the guidance of senior engineers. Support technology evaluations and prototype testing to build foundational knowledge of electronics design and emerging technologies.
  • New Product Design: Contribute to the development of new electronic products by assisting in schematic design, PCB layout support, and prototype assembly. Collaborate with senior engineers to refine designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability, and participate in design reviews to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor production performance and suggest design or process improvements. Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to support innovation and product reliability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate effectively with other engineering departments: Design, Hardware, Software, Manufacturing, and Project Management. Proactively seek out information and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve design or production challenges.
  • Compliance: Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with others.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

What you'll Need to Succeed:
Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 2- 4 Years of experience in Electrical, Electronics, or Component Engineering.
  • Good skills in effective problem-solving and able to communicate across some levels of the organization related to concepts of supply-chain, production, and electronics.
  • An understanding of various manufacturing technologies and methods, preferably within the electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Good interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience.
  • Great communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation), able to partner with and communicate with customers, both technical and non-technical.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the quality function.
  • Good organizational planning, coordinating internal and external resources, and juggling key demands.
  • Sound business sense and analytical skills with the ability to use and analyze data to drive informed actions, solve complex problems, and drive learning.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, including the flexibility to work extended hours when necessary.
  • Great computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Power BI, or other similar systems, including great data analysis skills.

  • Good knowledge of software and programming with programs such as SPICE or MATLAB
  • CLAD - Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer
  • Familiar with PCBA manufacturing processes (ICT-In Circuit Test, FT- Functional Test)
  • Conversant with Document Control SW Tool (3Dx, Agile)
  • Conversant with Program Management Tool (JIRA, Confluence)
