Job description

Hunter Industries is seeking an Electronics Engineer, responsible for electronic hardware design, and working with Manufacturing and Reliability to improve product performance through failure analysis of field return units.

Demonstrates behavior that is consistent with the company’s values of Customer Satisfaction, Innovation, Family, and Social Responsibility.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs electrical design and development tasks, including schematic capture, component selection, BOM preparation, and value engineering.
  • Assists with board bring-up and test equipment development.
  • Assists with support for PCB layout, Contract Manufacturing, technical services, and QA.
  • Prepares gate deliverable documents in support of our phase-gate development process. These may include technical requirement documents, cost estimates and project schedules for multiple present and future product development projects.
  • Works with Warranty Engineering to create procedures and processes for data collection. Performs trend analysis to prioritize product Improvement projects. Implements changes and tracks results.
  • Develops BOMs, test procedures and other related documentation required to support new products. Works with various departments to transfer new designs into production.
  • Supports Incoming Inspection and Warranty Test by providing technical support for failure analysis. Works with Warranty Engineering to prioritize product improvements based on trend analysis.

Education/Training Required and Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.

Experience Required and Preferred:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Electronics Engineer.

What You Bring:

  • Foundational knowledge of digital and analog circuit design, analysis, schematic capture, and PCB layout.
  • Must be familiar with development tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and emulators.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to interact with members across the organization.
  • Ability to create documents, including Bills of Materials, test procedures, and design notes.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel to field sites to meet with customers.
