Job Summary

The Associate Electronics Engineer will play an essential role in driving the growth and support of the electronics test lab at SiTime’s Santa Clara office. In this dynamic, hands‑on position, you’ll contribute directly to the development, testing, maintenance, and repair of SiTime products, as well as the cutting‑edge electronic equipment used to test them.

You’ll take on a variety of impactful responsibilities—from prototyping and PCB assembly/debugging to executing detailed test protocols and coordinating the repair and calibration of lab equipment. Your work will help ensure our lab runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely, enabling engineers to innovate at full speed.


Beyond technical execution, you will document your work through clear and thorough technical reports, maintain organized and accurate records, and help keep the lab in excellent working condition.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist engineers in device test and qualification activities, including carrying out test procedures, loading devices into test equipment, recording, and organizing data, and utilizing data analysis tools.
  • Assemble and troubleshoot circuit boards and test fixtures, including hand-solder and reflow solder of chip-scale package devices.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in safe, proper working conditions.
  • Troubleshoot issues with bench test equipment or test setup.
  • Collect and record accurate test or process data for use in problem analysis, product verification, process verification and engineering or manufacturing estimates.
  • Maintain and repair custom test sockets and fixturing.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and repair laboratory test equipment.
  • Assist engineers in schematic circuit debug / MATLAB code debugging.
  • Assist technical staff in device test and qualification activities, including carrying out test procedures, loading and testing devices, recording, and organizing data, and utilizing data analysis tools.
  • Contribute to other projects as needed by management or as business needs change.
  • Follow up, Maintain ESD Golden Rules, and Train New Hires.
  • Work with internal & external vendors to maintain equipment and facility activities.

Qualifications & Requirements (Education must be included):

  • AS in Electronics or Electronics Technology, BS a plus
  • Associate in engineering technology Preferred. Exceptional candidates with other technical backgrounds will be considered.
  • Previous experience managing and maintaining electronic laboratories including custom test equipment.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Hands-on experience testing semiconductor devices, including experience using ATE and automated bench-test setups.
  • Hands-on experience with PCB assembly (hand-solder and reflow), including surface-mount and chip-scale packages.
  • Hands-on experience with Agilent/Keysight bench test equipment such as power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, digital signal analyzers (DSA), network analyzers
  • Knowledge of circuit debug, touch-up, and rework
  • Ability to read and modify electronic schematics.
  • Experience coding software such as MATLAB or PYTHON is a plus.
  • Experience in creating reports using PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word
  • Experience with instrument control using GPIB interface is considered a plus.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 30 lbs.
  • May be required to climb ladders to retrieve or maintain equipment.

Compensation:
