DIGITAL ELECTRONICS HARDWARE ENGINEER:

Autoclear, LLC. specializes in the design, manufacture, and support of high quality, professional security X-ray scanners and metal detection systems, as well as advanced detection of trace particulate and vapor explosives and narcotics. Our company reaches worldwide to supply companies, government facilities, militaries, customs, agricultural and electronics inspection, public venues, and events with progressive and high-quality lines of security equipment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Hardware: Understanding of printed circuit board design, circuit theory (analog/digital), microcontrollers (ARM, AVR), and field programmable gate arrays.
  • Tools & Testing: Proficiency with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, and SMT soldering.
  • Design Skills: Schematic capture using OrCAD or Altium.
  • Testing & LabView: Ability to create test procedures for pre-test and final testing; LabView experience.
  • Computing: Knowledge of BIOS, Linux, and PC operating systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Networking: Knowledge of networking configurations.
  • Power Systems: Comprehension of switch-mode power supplies, topologies and High Voltage X-ray generator systems.
  • Component Engineering: Interpreting technical data sheets; selecting, testing, and replacing end of life components.
  • Operations: Ability to learn and navigate complex user interfaces for X-ray security scanners.
  • Compliance: Skills related to UL safety and EMC standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, specifications, manuals, and work instructions
  • Solid knowledge of Electronics Theory

This position is based in our Fairfield, NJ USA world headquarters.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in electronics engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant employment history.

PREFERENCES:

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • PC literacy (Google & Microsoft applications, CAD) and familiarity with Linux operating system.
  • Strong analog, digital background.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaboration with senior electronics and software engineers in research and development to qualify new systems modules.
  • Work with engineering and service technicians in diagnosing machine errors, in-field failures, diagnostic findings and trends
  • Preparation of work instructions and procedural documentation
