You will troubleshoot to the component level, use advanced electronic test equipment, and apply a detailed understanding of circuit interrelationships to restore complex aerospace and avionics systems to service. The position is designated FAA safety sensitive and operates on a day shift schedule in a clean, temperature-controlled facility.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, overhaul, and test aircraft electrical components and subcomponents in accordance with work orders and applicable procedures.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, disassemble, assemble, repair, and test electronic assemblies and subassemblies, including circuit cards and electrical controls, down to the component level.
  • Analyze and interpret complex circuit interrelationships to identify faults and ensure proper functionality.
  • Exercise independent judgment when performing circuit analyses, calculating waveforms, and tracing relationships in signal flow.
  • Use advanced electronic test instruments such as digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, high-frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment.
  • Disassemble, prepare, and inspect component subassemblies and final assemblies for various aerospace and avionics systems and components.
  • Verify final systems for completeness and correct operation prior to release for final inspection and shipping.
  • Utilize system-level return-to-service equipment and subassembly/component-level test equipment, including oscilloscopes, microscopes, Huntron and PinPoint systems, CCA and component troubleshooting devices, and volt/multimeters to locate and identify malfunctions.
  • Operate a wide variety of hand and power tools such as soldering irons, desoldering stations, crimpers, insertion and extraction tools, screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers to perform precise electronic repairs.
  • Support the Quality Management System by strictly following procedures, work order instructions, and documentation requirements to maintain compliance with AS9100 and AS9110 standards.
  • Document all work performed in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements, ensuring traceability and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with other technicians in a bench-focused environment to share knowledge, support troubleshooting efforts, and maintain high repair standards.
  • Adhere to all FAA safety sensitive requirements, including applicable testing and compliance protocols.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in an electronics-related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with aerospace, avionics, or other high-reliability electronic systems.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and AS9110 quality management system requirements.
  • Experience supporting or working within a formal Quality System, including thorough documentation and record-keeping.
  • Exposure to FAA safety sensitive environments or similar regulated industries.
  • Comfort working in a peer-reviewed environment with a flat organizational structure.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to troubleshooting and repair.
