Position Title: Electronics Technician

Duration: 01 – 02 Months with possibility of extension

Location: Mayfield Heights, OH 44124

Shift hours: 7 to 4

Job Description

Electronics Technicians are involved in various parts of electronic equipment construction (Design, Parts procurement, building and testing).

They support several labs that use basic power distribution, PLC’s, I/O, Network Switches Computers, and Drives.  This support is not only on the construction of Test Fixtures but also Testing and any troubleshooting as required. Electronics Technicians run tests on equipment to locate issues.

They also order parts and install replacement parts.

Electronics Technician candidates should be computer-minded and enjoy working with their hands. They should also be able to create and edit wiring diagrams.

Experience leading other techs with using test equipment, reading wiring diagrams and schematics. It’s also essential for an Electronics Technician to be a critical thinker, analytical problem solver, and an organized person to maintain tools and inventory records.

Duties and responsibilities

Construct and wire panels

Test electrical systems and products based on specifications

Troubleshoot, repair and maintain electronic systems

Perform system testing using DVM

Maintain inventory control of components and tools

Recommend upgrades and modifications to improve system performance

Education and experience

This position requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Prefer candidates with an associate or bachelor’s degree in electronics technology or a related field.

Analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills

Teamwork and interpersonal communication skills

Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand wiring diagrams and schematics

Strong hand-eye coordination and proficiency in using tools like soldering equipment

High-level organization skills

Preferred qualifications

Experience in wiring control panels that use PLC’s, drives, (Build to print)

Experience using RA Control products: 1756, 1783, 1794, 5069, 5094, K5700

Experience with Logix Designer

Experience creating Mechanical layouts, power distribution, and IO wiring diagrams

Experience soldering electronics

Experience using Excel, Visio, SAP

Experience using Hand Tools

Ability to lift 20+ pounds

Desire to learn new systems
