Job description

The Electronics Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, and troubleshooting electronic sub-assemblies & assemblies to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards. This role plays a vital part in maintaining product reliability, safety, and compliance through hands-on analysis, documentation, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect subassemblies, and final products using industry-standard equipment and techniques (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, microscopes).
  • Perform functional and in-circuit testing of electronic boards and systems.
  • Support root cause analysis of defects and nonconformities; assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAR’s & SCAR’s).
  • Document and report inspection results, test data, and quality deviations using internal systems (e.g., ERP or QMS software).
  • Participate in audits (internal and external) and assist in compliance reporting as required.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Production teams to improve product quality and resolve technical issues.
  • Calibrate and maintain testing equipment as needed.
  • Assist in the development and revision of quality inspection procedures, control plans, and work instructions.

    Qualifications:

    Education & Experience:

  • Associate degree or technical diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in electronics testing, quality control, or a related role.
  • Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of electronic circuits, components, and wiring schematics.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiar with quality tools and techniques is a plus (e.g., 5 Whys, Pareto Analysis, Fishbone diagrams).
  • Experience with soldering and rework is a plus.
  • Certifications (Preferred):

  • UL508a
  • Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity for working with small electronic components.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs. occasionally.
  • Work Environment:

  • Electronics lab environment and warehouse/production floor.
