Position Summary

The Sinclair Electronics and Engineering Technologydepartment is seeking a skilled and motivated individual withhands-on experience to teach direct and alternating current (DC/AC)circuits, power, three phase and test equipment.

Sinclair is currently seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty toteach face-to-face, Tuesdays/Thursdays at Centerville High Schoolwith a Spring Semester start date. The starting pay for AdjunctFaculty is $1,016 per credit hour assigned to teach.

This position is open only to applicants who residein Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or who are able to perform workwithin one of these states. Sinclair Community College restrictspart-time employment to approved states due to employment, tax, andbenefits compliance requirements.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize studentlearning
  • Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assignedsections in accordance with department and divisional policies
  • Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, useavailable instructional technology when appropriate
  • Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategiesto meet diverse student’s needs
  • Support classroom and online efforts to promote studentsuccess
  • Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promotelearning
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress
  • Submit final grade rosters according to establisheddeadlines
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information
  • Cannot exceed maximum of 12 credit hours per semester
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering,electronics engineering technology, a related area; OR must meetthe specific requirements associated with Tested Experience
  • Tested Experience Requirements:
    • Minimum of a high school diploma required AND
    • Minimum of five years of experience in a field specificallyrelated to the course to be taught required AND
    • Active journeyman’s card required
  • Evidence of successful prior teaching experience preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning throughinnovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the courseand program level
  • Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills withthe capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse collegecommunity
  • Demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology,including multimedia-based instruction
