General Job Description: Electronic Monitoring Technician

A key member of the Indianapolis Team, the Electronic Monitoring Technician, will report to the Executive Director.  This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and removal of tracking devices for clients that are court ordered to electronic monitoring (GPS or Home Detention) and/or alcohol monitoring in Marion County, Indiana.  This position is located in our Indianapolis, IN office, and is a hands-on position. 

Duties:

Install and remove electronic monitoring equipment and/or alcohol monitors in accordance with the contractual guidelines with Track Group's client you are assisting.

 Input data into computer software for monitoring purposes and in an excel sheet for inventory purposes.

  Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform routine equipment inspections to identify tampering or device malfunction.

  Effectively communicate with clients to provide support and guidance on the equipment.

  Properly clean equipment.

  Collect fees from clients on home detention and/or alcohol monitoring and for lost or damaged equipment.

  Working in the Logistics Center as needed.

  Triaging returned GPS units and getting them ready to be deployed back into the field.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  None.

 Pay:

         Starting Pay $17.00 per hour; weekends and overtime as required.

Requirements

   Must be a quick learner, reliable, and self-started.

   Must be able to type at least 45 words per minute.

   Multi-task in a fast paced environment and navigate on computer databases such as Excel and software programs used for monitoring clients.

   Additional skills and abilities include communication skills and interpersonal skills.

   Knowledge of standard policies and procedures.

   Excellent phone and communication skills.

   Must be able and willing to work 2nd shift (2:00pm to 10:00pm).

   All chosen applicants must pass a drug screen and background check required for this position .

   Minimum educational requirements High School Diploma/equivalent.

Location: Position reports to the Indianapolis Office/Marion County Community Correction offices five days/week.
