Job description

An industrial contractor serving heavy construction, fabrication, and specialized field services in eastern North Carolina is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their preconstruction team. This role offers the chance to take ownership of the estimating process from early budgeting through final proposal, working alongside project teams on a wide range of industrial and electrical scopes. You will play a key part in shaping winning bids and setting projects up for a smooth handoff to the field.
Electrical Estimator Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates and proposals for industrial projects with a focus on electrical scope, covering hard bids, negotiated bids, and budget pricing
- Review plans, specifications, and jobsite conditions to quantify materials, labor, and equipment needs
- Attend pre-bid meetings and gather the information needed to accurately scope each project
- Coordinate with client representatives, internal departments, and subcontractors throughout the bidding process
- Analyze bid documents and develop construction methods, schedules, and value engineering options
- Identify quality control and safety requirements to build into each estimate
- Negotiate contracts and change orders with owners and subcontractors
- Partner with field operations to ensure a smooth transition from bid to project execution
Electrical Estimator Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience estimating construction projects
- Solid electrical background/knowledge required in order to estimate electrical projects
- Bachelors degree strongly preferred, but equivalent years of experience would be considered
