Job description

Eaton's ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Electrical Tester Associate- 1st Shift.
The hourly rate for this position is $26.47 per hour.

What you'll do:
• Promote Quality and Engineering's best practices in regard to wiring and wired assemblies in the department and ensure standard wiring practice and designs are followed.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to ensure functional testing of wired components and ETO wired assemblies are completed.
• Support programming and troubleshoot to ensure proper functionality in accordance with Engineering and Quality.
• Collaborate with Supervision and Planning to execute released builds in a timely, orderly manner.
• Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available and functioning.
• Verify wiring and components are accurate per BOM's and Schematics, determine proper type and size wire to be used with various amperages when not specified on drawings.
• Operate hoist or other lifting device as needed to perform job functions.
• Perform a variety of similar or associated duties including those of clerical nature as required or directed.
• Call Maintenance Control for repairs or refer to Supervision for assistance with Work Orders.
• Document errors found in drawings, production orders or other paperwork used to produce customer orders and recommend engineering changes and improvements.
• Refer all quality findings to Group Leader, Supervision, and other associated Quality personnel.
• Assist with other duties as needed, including wire harness assembly, wiring of industrial control panels and panel assembly.
Required to be trained on new methods and machines introduced to the department. Required to assist, instruct and train personnel in CNC1 on the following: new methods and machines introduced to the department, Setup and operation of NC/CNC multi-axis, multi-turret lathes and multiple chucker lathes equipped with auto, manual or robotic loaders with related secondary auto/manual and conventional primary equipment. Training will include but is not limited to: Assemble tool setup packages, download control program from DNC, setting controls, performing manual data inputs, load, unload and adjust tools. Setup and operation gear hobbing and milling machines. Responsible for proper use fixed and adjustable gages. Perform blueprint reading. Perform Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and all other responsibilities assigned to CNC1 personnel.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
• 2 years experience in manufacturing/production environment.
• Strong understanding in Industrial Control wiring.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues with wiring and control apparatuses to identify root cause.
• Experience working with live voltage.
• Familiarity with manufacturing production equipment, processes, and safety standards.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing or production environment.
• Electrical vocational training is a plus but is not required.
• Qualified Electrical Worker trained.
Physical and Environmental Factors:
• Occasional lifting of parts up to 5-50 pounds.
• Most lifting of material is utilized by a hoist
• Intermediate standing throughout the shift.
• Repetitive motions involving the use of hand tools during the respective build.
