Wieland is hiring a Electrical Tech. The responsibility of the Electrical Tech is to make decisions on how electrical repair are to proceed, perform quality repairs the first time, handle specialized electrical tasks, and assist Maintenance Techs when assigned.ย  This role will reside at our East Alton, IL facility.ย 

Starting Pay: $48.23/hourly

Pay Schedule: Bi-Weekly

Work Schedule: Swing Shift (1st, 2nd & 3rd on rotatingย weeks)


Electrical Tech Responsibilities

  • Work together with and/or leads the operating crew to minimize downtime and to maximize productivity
  • Responsible for making the basic decisions on how an electrical repair is to proceed and perform quality repairs the first time
  • Responsible for leading the completion of more complicated and specialized electrical tasks
  • Responsible for assisting Maintenance Techs when assigned
  • Work with the production team for constant improvement
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned including completion of work order documentation and data entry into the computerized maintenance system

Electrical Tech Requirements:

  • 4-5 years of heavy industrial/maintenance experience OR
  • Four year apprenticeship certification OR
  • 2 years of heavy industrial/maintenance experience and a 2 year Technical degree in Electrical (or a similar field)
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills a must. Hydraulic and combustion systems troubleshooting skill considered a plus
  • Experience with large AC/DC motors, analog and digital controls, AC inverter drives, solid-state DC drives instrumentation devices and programmable control experience required
  • Experience with Siemens, Modicon, Reliance, and Control Logix PLCs considered a plus.ย 
  • Experience with Siemens, Rockwell, ABB, and Baldor drives also considered a plus
  • Understanding of infrared, acoustics and other predictive maintenance practices considered a plus
