Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to lead and develop a new sales team with Strategic Contractors in the Southeast and drive revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans. This role involves building and managing a team, setting sales goals, analyzing data, and building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve company targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in industrial and commercial electrical contractors.
  • Build, lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to meet and exceed performance goals.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics and suggest improvements.
  • Identify new market opportunities and customer needs.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align strategies.
  • Prepare regular sales forecasts, reports, and presentations for senior management.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor new sales team members.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and ethical standards.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field or equivalent electrical industry experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, with at least 2 years in leadership or managerial roles.
  • 10+ years of electrical industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with sales of all electrical components (switchgear, lighting, commodities, misc.)
  • Experience with project-based sales and long sales cycles.
  • Experience working with and developing large national and regional strategic contractors.
  • Experience working with manufacturers and rep agents to negotiate pricing and get support in each market covered.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM software is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging presentations.
  • High level of business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with sales forecasting and pipeline management tools.
  • Experience with utilizing data to analyze and negotiate with clients.
