Job description

Position Summary
The Maintenance Manager leads maintenance operations for facility infrastructure, manufacturing equipment, and material handling systems. This role ensures optimal equipment reliability, safe operations, and continuous improvement of maintenance programs to support production goals.
The Maintenance Manager supervises the maintenance team, manages preventive maintenance programs, oversees repairs and capital improvements, and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Operations
  • Lead maintenance activities for production equipment, packaging systems, vehicles, and facility infrastructure.
  • Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled equipment issues.
  • Coordinate inspections, service schedules, and equipment repairs with internal teams and external vendors.

Team Leadership
  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of maintenance technicians (typically 6-10 employees).
  • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate maintenance staff.
  • Plan and assign work schedules and ensure maintenance coverage across shifts.
  • Foster a strong safety culture and lead regular safety meetings.

Facilities & Asset Management
  • Oversee maintenance and improvement of buildings, equipment, vehicles, and fixed assets.
  • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers for specialized repair work.
  • Evaluate equipment replacement needs and participate in capital planning.

Budget & Cost Control
  • Manage the department budget and track expenditures (typically up to $1M annually).

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Associate degree in Maintenance Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred

Technical Skills
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting expertise
  • Experience maintaining PLC-controlled machinery
