Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Director of Projects- Electrical in Indianapolis, IN. The Director of Projects - Electrical will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the project management department, ensuring the successful execution of complex electrical construction projects. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, managing departmental financial performance, and fostering high-level client relationships to support the company's growth and project delivery goals.

Job Type: Permanent

Annual Salary: $190,000 to $230,000 Annually BOE

Responsibilities:

  • Provide executive-level oversight for all electrical construction projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Manage the project management team, including hiring, mentoring, and professional development of Project Managers and support staff.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including P&L responsibility, cash flow analysis, and overall portfolio profitability.
  • Develop and implement standardized project management procedures and best practices to enhance efficiency and consistency across the department.
  • Collaborate with preconstruction and estimating departments to ensure accurate project hand-offs and successful project initiation.
  • Act as the senior point of contact for key clients, general contractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and resolve high-level project issues.
  • Oversee resource allocation and manpower planning across the project portfolio to optimize labor productivity.
  • Review and negotiate large-scale contracts, change orders, and major purchase agreements.
  • Conduct regular project audits to ensure compliance with safety standards, quality control programs, and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Report departmental performance and project status updates to the executive leadership team.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical construction project management, with a proven track record in a senior leadership or director-level capacity.
  • Extensive experience managing large-scale commercial or industrial electrical projects, including those with scopes exceeding $10MM.
  • Strong financial acumen with expert knowledge of project accounting, cost forecasting, and budget management.
  • Deep understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), industry safety standards, and local building codes.
  • Proficiency in project management and scheduling software such as Procore, Accubid, or Primavera P6.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a diverse professional team.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to navigate active construction sites, including climbing stairs and ladders when necessary.
  • Specific vision abilities required for computer work and the detailed review of blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • May be exposed to loud noises and varying weather conditions during site visits.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $190,000 to $230,000 annually, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
