Job Summary
Contra Costa Electric is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to manage the procurement of electrical materials, tools, and equipment for commercial and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in the electrical contracting industry and a strong understanding of vendor relations, inventory control, and project timelines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Source and purchase electrical materials based on project specifications and submittals.
  • Evaluate suppliers for cost, availability, and delivery performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, deliveries, and invoices.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure timely material deliveries.
  • Track orders from date of issue to delivery.
  • Resolve discrepancies in shipments and invoices.
  • Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and OSHPD requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams and estimating to provide submittal documentation.
  • Partner with teams to request quotes from vendors and review for accuracy.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of purchasing experience in the electrical or construction industry.
  • Proficiency in procurement and invoicing software and Microsoft Excel.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • Business writing and reporting skills
