Job description

The Electrical Project Manager (Central Virginia) leads medium to large-scale electrical projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. This role provides expertise in project planning, risk management, resource coordination, and client communication. The Electrical Project Manager oversees all aspects of the project lifecycle, including design, permits, scheduling, materials, field installation, and closeout, while maintaining safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

ELECTRICAL PROJECT MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage electrical projects across commercial job sites with a specialty in multi-family housing.
  • Oversee and communicate project progress from start to finish, including scheduling, labor, materials, and installation.
  • Develop project plans to meet budget and schedule goals; participate in monthly progress meetings.
  • Prepare and manage construction documents such as subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and billings.
  • Ensure compliance with all codes, standards, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate change orders and monitor financial performance to improve project margins.
  • Review and approve invoices, payments, and time records.
  • Utilize project management software (such as Procore) to track productivity and progress.
  • Collaborate with Prefabrication and BIM teams to identify and execute opportunities.
  • Represent the company with professionalism in all client and stakeholder interactions.

ELECTRICAL PROJECT MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician’s license a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of electrical project management experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including building and maintaining tracking spreadsheets.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), standards, and building codes.
