Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
Industrial Electrician in training, working in a manufacturing factory environment.
APPRENTICESHIP REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Enrolment in a state approved apprenticeship program for a period of 4 years including a minimum 576 hours of approved course work.
  2. Enter into an apprenticeship agreement
  3. Successful completion of an aptitude test

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Assist qualified personnel with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
  2. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints and wiring diagrams under supervision.
  3. Install and terminate conduit, wire, cable control panels, motors and other industrial equipment.
  4. Preform preventative maintenance to ensure safe reliable operation.
  5. Use test equipment, hand and power tools to assist in the diagnoses and resolution of equipment issues.
  6. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations and NFPA 70E electrical safe electrical practices.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized work area while documenting work performed and participating in on-the-job training and related classroom instruction.

RECOMMENDED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Pre apprenticeship training or electrical experience is a plus
  2. Strong mechanical aptitude
  3. Strong math skills
  4. High school diploma or GED
  5. Able to use hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments
  6. Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  7. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Able to lift 50 lbs.
  2. Standing, walking while performing duties
  3. Required to climb, stoop, or kneel

WORKING SCHEDULE:
  1. Work schedule to change during the program to provide time on all shifts and to accommodate classes
  2. Overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

COMPENSATION:
  1. $20-$30/hr. depending on completed classes or experience
  2. Overtime- time and half. Sundays- double time
  3. Annual reviews
