Job description

Gibson Electrical LLC is seeking motivated and hardworking individuals interested in starting their careers as an Electrician. This full-time Pre-Apprentice position is ideal for those not currently in an accredited apprenticeship program but looking to take the first step toward becoming a certified Journeyman Electrician.
As a Pre-Apprentice, you will work in a structured environment while gaining foundational knowledge in safety, tools, materials, equipment and the fundamentals of electrical construction.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Journeyman Electricians: Help with installations, repairs, and general electrical maintenance.
  • Follow Safety Protocols: Learn and adhere to all safety guidelines on the job.
  • Handle Tools & Equipment: Proper use and maintenance of hand and power tools.
  • Learn Basic Electrical Concepts: Gain understanding of electrical systems, components, and circuitry.
  • Perform Basic Tasks: Complete supervised entry-level tasks such as running wire and replacing fixtures.
  • Read Blueprints: Develop the ability to interpret basic blueprints and schematics.
  • Maintain Work Areas: Keep tools and materials organized and clean.
  • Participate in Training: Attend workshops and training sessions to build knowledge and skills.
  • Assist with Inspections: Help ensure work complies with electrical codes and standards.
  • Communicate Effectively: Work closely with team members to report progress and address challenges.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and understand written materials
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Must own basic hand tools (tool list provided upon hiring)
  • No prior experience necessary, though relevant experience is a plus

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • Lift or move up to 50 lbs

Work Schedule
  • Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM*

*Subject to change. Must be flexible to accommodate project demands
