Job description

Overview

Schedule: Monday – Thursday 6:00am to 3:00pm and Friday 6:00am to 10:00am.

The Control Panel Technician at Quality Electrical Systems (QES) is responsible for the hands-on assembly, wiring, and quality inspection of control panels used in industrial automation systems. This role requires a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined individual with a strong understanding of electrical systems and the ability to interpret schematics. The position supports day shift operations and plays a key role in delivering high-quality products in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and work from electrical schematics, engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and bills of materials
  • Assemble and wire control panels according to specifications and quality standards
  • Cut, strip, crimp, and wire gauges ranging from 26 AWG to 12 AWG
  • Mount electrical components including relays, switches, terminal blocks, and circuit breakers
  • Fabricate and modify control panel enclosures using hand and power tools
  • Apply proper torque using appropriate tools to secure all components
  • Perform rework or corrections as directed by the Quality Control (QC) Technician
  • Conduct basic QC testing of panels to verify functionality and compliance with design requirements

    Knowledge and Experience Requirements
  • Basic to advanced knowledge of electrical systems and components
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering documentation
  • Mechanical aptitude and assembly experience in a shop, warehouse, or manufacturing setting
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Preferred: oPrevious experience in electrical panel building, wiring, or assembly
  • Background in HVAC systems or industrial automation
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S practices
