Job description


Position Summary
The Electrical Division Operations Manager will lead the Division's operational efforts to effectively plan, manage, and successfully execute electrical construction projects while achieving scope, budget, quality, safety, and schedule objectives for clients. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence across project management, field operations, estimating, procurement, and client relations to support division growth, profitability, and long-term strategic goals. The Operations Manager will collaborate closely with division leadership, project teams, and customers to ensure consistent project delivery, operational efficiency, workforce development, and exceptional client satisfaction across all electrical projects and services.
Position Details
  • Partner with division leadership to establish strategic growth initiatives, profitability targets, operational performance metrics, and resource planning for the Electrical Division.
  • Lead and motivate operations, project management, engineering, field supervision, and support teams to successfully execute electrical construction projects in alignment with division and company objectives.
  • Drive division profitability through improvements in estimating, procurement, labor productivity, scheduling, prefabrication, change order management, and installation methods for electrical systems.
  • Conduct monthly project review meetings and assist in preparation of division financial reporting including revenue forecasts, margin projections, budgets, labor tracking, and cash flow analysis.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in partnership with Division Leadership to improve operational efficiency, safety, quality, and consistency across projects.
  • Participate in business development activities including client relationship management, project scoping, estimate and bid reviews, contract negotiations, and representation of the company in client and partner meetings.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA, BS, BSEE, Construction Management, or equivalent) from an accredited engineering, construction science, or technical program preferred.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA), Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) license, or equivalent industry certifications preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in electrical construction, operations management, estimating, project management, or design/build electrical systems.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale commercial, industrial, healthcare, mission critical, or institutional electrical construction projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build, motivate, and lead high-performing teams.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong working relationships with executive leadership, clients, subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and business partners.
  • Thorough understanding of project management principles, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and construction operations.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, procurement practices, and industry standards/codes.
  • Knowledge of contract law, contract language, risk management, and change management processes.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, process, and energy systems coordination.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, scheduling tools, and construction financial reporting systems.
  • Ability to analyze operational and financial performance data to drive strategic decisions.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% as required.
