Job description

The Senior Electrical Operations Manager reports directly to the Director of Construction and works closely with Business Development, Estimating, Project Management, and Field Operations teams.

This is not a Director role at this time. However, it is a critical leadership position supporting the continued growth of the company's electrical capabilities and may evolve as the company’s electrical portfolio expands.

Salary range of $150,000-$185,000 with required travel 25% of the time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Electrical Operations & Execution

  • Provide senior-level oversight of electrical construction activities across utility scale solar projects.
  • Support execution of MV and LV electrical systems including collection systems, inverters, transformers, grounding, and associated infrastructure.
  • Assist with constructability reviews, sequencing strategies, and productivity planning.
  • Provide field support as needed; prior field experience is a plus.

Business Development & Estimating Support

  • Support Business Development and Estimating teams during bid and proposal phases.
  • Review electrical scopes, drawings, and specifications to validate labor, production rates, material quantities, and schedule assumptions.
  • Identify execution risks, cost drivers, and opportunities to improve bid accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Support project handoff from preconstruction to execution to ensure bid assumptions align with field plans.

Procurement, Cost & Schedule Management

  • Assist with procurement planning for electrical materials, equipment, and subcontracted scopes.
  • Support identification and management of cost-saving opportunities and schedule risks.
  • Collaborate with operations and project teams to address material availability, lead times, and execution impacts.

Project Systems & Procore

  • Maintain in-depth working knowledge of Procore.
  • Support consistent use of Procore for daily reports, RFIs, submittals, change events, and documentation.
  • Help standardize electrical workflows and reporting within Procore.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Develop and manage the Electrical Team, including Superintendents, Foremen, and field crews.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and mentoring electrical personnel.
  • Ensure required training, certifications, and continuing education are maintained.

SOPs, SWIs & Continuous Improvement

  • Assist in the development and implementation of SOPs, SWIs, and electrical means and methods.
  • Drive consistency, scalability, and continuous improvement across projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive experience in electrical construction; utility-scale solar experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of MV and LV electrical systems.
  • Proven experience supporting estimating, BD, or preconstruction teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of Procore required.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC, NESC, OSHA, and NFPA 70E.
  • OSHA 30 required; Journeyman or Master Electrician
