The Electrical Maintenance Engineer role focuses on ensuring the consistent performance and reliability of systems and equipment within the organization; This role involves analyzing data to identify potential failures, implementing reliabilitycentered maintenance strategies, and developing improvement plans to enhance operational uptime; In this position, you collaborate with crossfunctional teams to establish metrics, conduct root cause analysis, and integrate best practices that promote longterm reliability and efficiency; As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you provide electrical and instrumentation technology support for chemical manufacturing areas, delivering welldocumented, technically sound, and costeffective solutions based on recognized engineering principles and sound judgment.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, are to:

  • Understand, follow, and contribute to the upkeep of Bayer electrical norms, practices, standards, guidelines, and procedures while staying current with industry standards, technology, and improved safety methods;
  • Support improvement projects (for example safety, yield, capacity, quality, reliability, and cost improvement), including evaluating alternatives and performing costbenefit analyses as needed;
  • Specify instruments (such as flow, pressure, and temperature), control devices, motors, and other electrical components for plant applications;
  • Review and evaluate vendor information for instrumentation and electrical components and determine suitability for specific project and maintenance applications;
  • Prepare maintenance plans to restore equipment to operating condition in a minimum amount of time, balancing repair cost with minimizing future failures, and contribute to routine electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities in the plant;
  • Assist other area engineers (production, process, electrical, project) and technicians regarding instrumentation and electrical performance, providing technical guidance as needed;
  • Create and modify documentation related to process operation, safety, and applicable environmental regulations, including electrical drawings and engineering flow diagrams/P&ID diagrams;
  • Engage in ongoing development of self and area personnel through peer coaching and constructive feedback, while complying with site safety rules and actively improving safety through coaching or engineered solutions;
  • Support Site and Area Production System improvements, including OnePSS, and perform basic electrical maintenance responsibilities such as instrumentation evaluation, maintenance planning, and thorough documentation as an individual contributor under guidance from more experienced engineers and leadership.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline;
  • 0-2 years of engineering experience, preferably in an industrial or chemical manufacturing environment;
  • Fundamental knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems and their application in process operations;
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor while accepting significant direction and oversight from experienced engineers and leadership;
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to support root cause analysis and reliabilityfocused decisions;
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create and maintain technical documentation and drawings;
  • Demonstrated commitment to working safely and supporting a strong safety culture.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electrical drawings and P&ID/engineering flow diagrams in an industrial setting;
  • Exposure to reliabilitycentered maintenance concepts, production systems, or continuous improvement methodologies (for example OnePSS or similar);
  • Familiarity with specifying and troubleshooting industrial instrumentation and control devices in chemical or related process industries;
  • Familiarity with PLC and control systems.

Posting will be available until June 29, 2026.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $63,040.00 - $94,560.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
