Job description

Aerostar, a business unit of TCOM is seeking an experienced Staff Electrical Engineer to design, develop, test, and support advanced electrical systems and equipment. This role plays a key part in the development of complex electronic systems and requires strong technical depth, hands-on engineering capability, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

The engineer will analyze and interpret technical specifications, create electrical schematics and system designs, and ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include conducting experiments, troubleshooting complex issues, and delivering solutions that improve the efficiency, performance, and reliability of electrical systems.

This position supports the design and development of advanced electronic and radar-based systems involving high-speed digital interfaces, embedded processors, FPGA-based architectures, and mixed-signal electronics. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between system-level architecture, detailed circuit design, lab validation, and cross-functional technical collaboration.

Core Electrical Engineering Functions:

  • Research, evaluate, develop, and test electronic systems and subsystems involving GHz RF circuits, FPGAs, microprocessors, and mixed-signal data converters.
  • Design and develop high-speed digital circuitry including PCIe, DDR4/5, Ethernet, SGMII, and USB interfaces.
  • Design and integrate low-speed communication interfaces such as SPI and IยฒC.
  • Design differential signaling circuits and embedded system architectures.
  • Develop FPGA logic using VHDL/HDL as part of system-level designs.
  • Create schematics and PCB layouts using Altium and support the full PCB lifecycle including simulation, manufacturing, and testing.
  • Design, build, and document test setups, test cables, and test procedures for verification of electronic systems and subsystems.
  • Apply mathematical and engineering principles to electrical designs and system architecture.
  • Perform testing and validation to ensure reliability, performance, and safety standards are achieved.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical issues in prototype and fielded systems and determine root causes with corrective design improvements.
  • Perform or support installation, integration, and testing of products, systems, or processes.
  • Support hands-on hardware development activities including prototype bring-up, test instrumentation setup, and lab debugging.
  • Develop and maintain design documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams as well as external customers, suppliers, and partners.
  • Support proposal and quotation activities when technical input is required.
  • Maintain a safe and organized lab and workspace.
  • Continuously improve and promote adherence to the divisionโ€™s ISO quality management system.
  • Stay current with emerging engineering technologies and industry practices.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to other engineers and technicians.

Core ย Responsibilities:
