Job description

Overview:
Our company is seeking experienced candidates to fill the role of Facilities Electrical Engineer. The role focuses on facilitating and coordinating electrical engineering and facilities activities while providing expertise, guidance, and support to ensure successful project execution.
  • Lead and manage electrical engineering projects from conception to completion. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality, maintenance, and other engineering departments, to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Ensure all electrical designs, installations, and maintenance activities meet applicable safety codes, standards, and regulations, including OSHA and NEC (National Electrical Code). Conduct regular risk assessments and implement safety protocols.
  • Manage multiple projects/activities to meet tight deadlines and track progress. Maintain accurate documentation for record keeping and reporting.
  • Communicate regularly with internal and external stakeholders, customers and vendors.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrical load calculations and create electrical power, lighting, and system plans. Participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in capital projects.
  • Ensures equipment, workspaces and tools supplied by FII are used for intended purposes and are maintained in safe working order.
  • Apply principles and working knowledge of structural, mechanical, HVAC and electrical system design. Guide and assist team with maintenance of facilities.
  • Utilize engineering principles, codes, and standards to identify issues, recommend improvements, and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and is able to adjust priorities as needed regarding potential competing project needs and associated impact on work schedule.

Skill/Knowledge Requirements:
  • Electrical engineering experience within the technology industry is strongly preferred.
  • Technical aptitude combined with ability to effectively prioritize conflicting tasks within a team environment is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of space planning and construction process would be preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of building systems, construction delivery methods and standard industry terminology.
  • Experience with engineering and office software such as SAP, Microsoft Suite and AutoCAD.
  • Possess excellent planning, time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective business relationships.

Education and Experience:
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
