The success of our firm is driven by its people, and our continuing success is the result of talented professional engineers and engineering consultants motivated toward the advancement of engineering practices and the pursuit of design and service excellence.The Position:Electrical Engineers are responsible for performing a variety of electrical engineering tasks including the research, development, planning and design phases of electrical distribution systems, lighting systems, and other related electrical subsystems common to MEP consulting engineering projects.Position Responsibilities:Develop detailed design drawings and specifications using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment, primarily Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.Research and analyze data, such as Client's Request for Proposal, specifications, Codes and Standards, and design criteria to determine the feasibility of design or application.Participate in the development of electrical power, lighting, and fire alarm plans, schematics, schedules, and diagrams for electrical distribution and lighting systems, applying knowledge of engineering principles.Exercise independent judgment in the use of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria such as IEEE, NFPA, International Building and Fire Codes, the National Electrical Code, and others.Provide direction and leadership to the IAN+A project team of graduate engineers, designers, draftspersons, and administrative staff to ensure the proper design of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and fire alarm systems drawings and specifications. Assist graduate engineers and draftspersons in developing the design of projects using computer-assisted design (CAD) software.Interface with IAN+A Construction Service staff to ensure effective design implementation and timely problem resolution.Represent IAN in design and/or project meetings with the Client, Architect, other Consultants, General Contractor, and others to discuss the status of designs, project goals, and deliverables.Manage the estimating of scope and fees and negotiate additional service requests and new work related to the project to ensure approvals are obtained prior to implementation.Verify that the project follows relevant local, state, and federal Codes and Regulations.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a four-year university required.
