Job description

Job DescriptionPosition Overview

As an Operations Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for management of the Electrical Maintenance program for Invenergy’s operating fleet.

Responsibilities
  • Manage Electrical Maintenance Program, including testing scope/intervals, documentation and validation of test results for balance of plant equipment
  • Coordinate completion of open maintenance items, and work with regional Operations Electrical Engineers to carry out additional scope
  • Manage maintenance contractor database, and develop new contractor relationships
  • Work with NERC Compliance Team/Lead to ensure maintenance program aligns with NERC requirements
  • Develop comprehensive electrical test guide and lead training for other teams and site personnel
  • Take ownership of site balance of plant maintenance – including inspections and preventative tests/checks
  • Work with Project Development team to ensure new project test scope is completed in full
  • Review third-party test scope and adapt internal programs to fit new customer needs
  • Travel to sites and oversee contractor testing, and help train new engineers
  • Coordinate with Procurement team on creation/renewal of contracts with maintenance contractors
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 3-5 years of work experience
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Strong knowledge of electrical testing – field experience is a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Problem solving and critical thinking
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
  • Strong project management skills
  • Some travel and field work is required (<25%)
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree concentration in Power Systems or Renewable Energy Systems
  • Experience with OSIsoft PI products
  • Experience with renewable energy technology specifically storage
  • Experience with HV/MV electrical infrastructure (substations/switchyards, distribution systems, transmission lines, transformers, relays, meters, CTs, and PTs)
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NESC, ASCE and ANSI/IEEE standards and codes.
  • Understanding of RTU/RTACs, control systems, communication networks, and HMIs
  • Knowledge in compliance and reliability standards associated with NERC, FERC, and ISOs
  • Understanding of Electrical Safety Practices

Base Pay $125,000.00 - $145,000.00 USD Annual Bonus: 20% - 30% The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills. In addition to base pay, the total annual compensation package may also include eligibility to participate in our bonus program(s) which are designed to reward individual and company performance.
