Key Responsibilities:

What You'll Do:

  • Lead electrical design efforts for outdoor substations, including high-voltage layouts and 3D modeling.
  • Manage engineering projects from quotation through completion, ensuring quality, compliance, and timeliness.
  • Collaborate across teams, including steel design groups, to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentor junior staff, and oversee design and drafting activities.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, manufacturers, and field personnel to support project execution.
  • Generate technical specifications, review vendor submittals, and evaluate bids with a focus on reliability and safety.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering with a focus on electrical power preferred.
  • Proven experience in electrical design, substation projects, or related fields.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, or similar CAD software; experience with Inventor (Autodesk) and SDS/SBS software is a plus.
  • Leadership potential with capabilities in project management and client engagement.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels.
  • Critical thinker with solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and data analysis.
  • EIT or PE license highly desirable.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with steel or structural design, 3D modeling, and power utility projects.
  • Knowledge of high voltage systems, protection & control design.
  • Familiarity with software such as SolidWorks, Revit, or AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Past experience working in consulting, utilities, or industrial environments.
  • Leadership or mentorship experience.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant technical and project leadership experience.
  • Professional licensure (PE or EI) is a significant advantage.

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to work in a hybrid setting, with flexibility for remote candidates based on experience.
  • Occasional travel for project sites or client meetings.
