Abonmarche is seeking an Electrical Engineer in our South Bend, IN office.
Job Summary:
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the electrical engineering design and layout of systems for various projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrical engineering design and layout of systems for commercial, industrial, correctional, and parks projects.
  • Designs and models electrical systems in 3 dimensions including power distribution systems, lighting systems, fire alarm, access control, and security.
  • Prepares 2-dimensional construction details for electrical system designs including power distribution One-Line Diagrams, wiring diagrams, and details.
  • Models lighting systems in photometric software to design general and emergency lighting systems for commercial buildings.
  • Produces electrical engineering construction drawings using AutoDesk Revit.
  • Performs field measurements and documentation by attending site visits to current or prospective job sites. Photographs existing conditions and takes legible field notes.
  • Assists in the preparation of reports, specifications, etc.
  • Assists in the development of probable construction cost estimate.
  • Provides support for other departments as needed.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited university.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
  • Professional Engineering licensure or Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred.

Work Experience/Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience required
  • Solid computer-aided drafting skills required.
  • AutoCAD, Revit, and/or other 3D modeling software preferred.
  • Basic understanding of electrical system design.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office software required.
  • Ability to keep commitments and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or with a team.

Work Environment:
Typical office environment with some work performed outside on a project site. May be exposed to extreme temperatures. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety boots/shoes, hard hat, safety vest, etc.
