Job DescriptionPosition Summary The Senior Electrical Engineer is a technical leader responsible for the design, commissioning, qualification, operation, reliability, and lifecycle management of the Wilmington site's electrical infrastructure. Supporting a greenfield biologics manufacturing campus, this role provides engineering ownership for medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems and ensures safe, reliable, compliant, and efficient electrical operations from project execution through commercial manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Provide electrical engineering leadership during design, construction, commissioning, qualification, startup, and commercial operation of the site's electrical infrastructure.Serve as the engineering owner for medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems, substations, switchgear, transformers, motor control centers (MCCs), UPS systems, standby generators, emergency power systems, power monitoring systems, lighting, grounding, and facility electrical distribution.Provide 24/7 technical support for critical electrical systems to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.Review electrical single-line diagrams, protection studies, relay coordination, load calculations, specifications, and construction packages for compliance with our Company's engineering standards and cGMP requirements.Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, qualification (CQV), energization planning, startup, and operational readiness activities.Develop preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance strategies for electrical assets.Lead troubleshooting of complex electrical failures, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and corrective actions to improve system reliability.Own and maintain electrical documentation including single-line diagrams, arc flash studies, protective device settings, panel schedules, cable schedules, and equipment files.Partner with Utilities, Facilities, Automation, Manufacturing, Reliability, Maintenance, Quality, EHSS, Validation, and Capital Projects to ensure reliable electrical service across the campus.Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on electrical reliability, energy efficiency, power quality, resilience, and sustainability.Ensure compliance with cGMP, NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NEC, OSHA, IEEE, and corporate engineering standards.Support future capital projects, electrical infrastructure expansion, capacity planning, and lifecycle replacement programs. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.8+ years of experience supporting electrical systems in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or other regulated manufacturing environments.Strong expertise with medium-voltage and low-voltage distribution systems, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, UPS systems, standby generators, protective relays, and power monitoring systems.Experience supporting greenfield projects, commissioning, startup, and operational readiness.Knowledge of CMMS systems, reliability engineering, electrical safety, and asset management.Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting biologics, sterile manufacturing, or vaccine facilities.Knowledge of CQV, FAT, SAT, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, OSHA, and cGMP requirements.Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.Experience with power system analysis software, arc flash studies, relay coordination, Building Management Systems (BMS), and energy management programs.
