Title: Electrical Designer 2

Location: Birmingham, AL 35243

Job Type: 36 months Contract

Shift: Standard

Pay Rate: $45.00 hourly on W2

Job Description

  • The Electrical Designer 2 position requires 5-7 years of related experience.
  • Job responsibilities include collaborating with project teams to understand design requirements and objectives, develop physical designs producing 3D models and design drawings, including system layouts, utilizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software (e.g., AutoCAD) to create and modify electrical drawings, maintain proficiency in design software and stay updated on software enhancements, or other applications, extensive 3D modeling experience is strongly preferred, ensuring that electrical designs adhere to industry standards, electrical codes, and regulatory requirements, conduct code reviews and updates as necessary, collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineers and architects, to integrate electrical systems into overall project designs, addressing design-related issues and provide design solutions, creating and maintaining organized documentation of electrical designs, including drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs), preparing technical reports and documentation for project deliverables, performing site walkdowns for field verification and to address constructability, and performing quality checks and reviews of electrical designs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project goals.
  • Skillsets and expertise required for this position include experience as an Electrical Designer or a similar role, with proficiency in CAD software, familiarity with electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE), effective communication and interpersonal skills, detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality designs, ability to collaborate within a team and with project stakeholders, and the ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
