Job description

Piper Electric, a Crete United Company has an opportunity for a Estimator to join the team! Our success is rooted in our people. It’s just the way we do business. As we expand and move into different verticals, we need to add a Estimator to our team. Ideal candidates are experienced in Commercial and Industrial Electrical Estimating and enjoy a team environment.

Essential duties / Responsibility
• Log in estimates with Estimator
• Review plans, specifications and addenda for preparation of estimate
• Provide information and participate in determination of strategy
• Select vendors and prepare Quotables
• Set up structure of labels for takeoff in estimating system
• Takeoff and extend estimates to a complete raw/prime cost
• Create and coordinate strategies and plans for each project with account manager
• Prepare information for turnovers as requested
• Prepare and help present proposals as required
• Review all estimates for accuracy and correctness
• Track material, labor, subcontractor, and rental costs for trends
• Keep an orderly inventory of estimates and proposals.
• Prepare V.E. pricing/graphs/presentations
• Keep current with new products and trends in industry
• Assist with conceptual design and pricing efforts as required
• Keep current with new industry pricing and trends

What you can Bring:

• Minimum 6 years in electrical industry
• Minimum 3 years as an electrical estimator
• Field experience preferred
Accubid experience required
• Good verbal and written communicator
• Knowledge of the NEC and building codes
• Thorough knowledge of national and local electrical building codes
