Position Introduction:

Applegreen is seeking to recruit an Electric Vehicle Incentives Specialist who will provide management and oversight for all phases of Applegreen Electric USA incentive programs, including process development, applications, compliance monitoring and reporting. The transition to Electric Vehicles (EV) is a key strategic priority for Applegreen, and we are embarking on significant investment in the area, given its importance for the future of our business.

The successful candidate will ultimately be responsible for incentive awareness, developing and tracking applications, developing compliance requirements and reporting procedures related to electric vehicle incentives. Candidate will communicate with State, Regional and Federal funding agencies, as well as Applegreen Executives on program development and reporting. The ideal candidate will be an independent self-starter comfortable in a start-up program and have grant program management experience. The role will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Electric Vehicles USA and may be required to travel intermittently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, track, manage, write, and submit all Electric Vehicle (EV) solar or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) incentive applications in collaboration with Applegreen stakeholders
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with external funding agencies and with internal Electric Vehicle colleagues
  • Analyse and review utility plans, state and federal legislation related to electric vehicle, solar or BESS funding opportunities
  • Work closely with site acquisition teams to prioritize incentive program development and implementation
  • Prepare and maintain financial budgets related to electric vehicle solar or BESS incentive programs
  • Submit documentation required for grants or incentive reimbursement
  • Prepare executive level briefings
  • Manage planning, co-ordination and execution of various projects related to EV, Solar or Battery Energy Storage System incentive programs
  • Manage daily project management activities ensuring work is delivered in accordance with specification
  • Manage and react to changes to projects while maintaining a project Risk Register
  • Ensure compliance with incentive program requirements and reporting
  • Assist in submitting required data on scheduled intervals
  • Develop and maintain database of incentive programs, incentive proposals and requirements

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with incentive/grant proposal creation and/or submittals preferred
  • Two or more years of project management
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications and database concepts
  • Strong project management, negotiation and facilitation skills required
  • Strong research skills, with the ability to identify, interpret, and evaluate federal, state, and local incentive programs and funding opportunities
  • Keen interest in electric vehicles, solar and/or energy systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of individuals including local, state and federal program administrators, consultants, and internal Applegreen Electric USA staff
  • Comfort and experience working in high pressure and dynamic work environments
  • Individual who is a self-starter, works well developing processes and requires minimal supervision
  • Must be willing to work in Glen Rock, New Jersey Headquarters of Applegreen
